On January 28th, 2021 Project 99A held its first Annual General Meeting where we reviewed our activities from 2019 – 2020, accepted our financial statements and elected a new Board of Directors.

A big THANK YOU to our Board of Directors, Adult and Youth Literacy Ambassadors, community partners, sponsors and donors for their support.  Through our collective efforts we have held 15 successful book drives, collected over 14,999 books and distributed over 6,999 books.

Locally we distributed books to The Rose of Sharon for Young Mothers, Crosby Heights Public School, Ross Doan Elementary School, The Marian House for Seniors, The Richmond Hill Food Bank, etc.

Internationally we have distributed books to elementary schools in Jamaica, Florida, Malawi and Cambodia.  In addition we have donated books to The British Virgin Islands’ Reading Council in BVI and to The Foundation Enhancement and Enrichment of Life based in Trinidad & Tobago.

We would like to thank and acknowledge the support of Staples, the BayMills Ratepayers Association, La Rocca Creative Kitchen, the Richmond Hill Board of Trade, Connecting The Community, Richmond Hill United Church, St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Emannuel Church, Richvale Lions Club, Blessed Trinity Catholic Elementary School, Father John Kelly Catholic Elementary School, Sharon Parenteau, the Richmond Hill High School, Clutterbugs, DelManor Richmond Hill, Treasures Thrift Store, the Village Market, Sunwing Airlines, COSTCO, e-Zone, The People Bridge Charitable Foundation, YEDI and the YMCA.  

Thank you to the members of our outgoing Board for your guidance, expertise and service.  You have done an AMAZING job!  Specifically we would like to thank Hugh Adams, Sumaya Ali, Maria Chong Ton, Gurpreet Dhaliwal, Sue Foerster, Kamala-Jean Gopie, Rochelle Greaves, Shenaz Kermalli, Aun Japanwala, Anita McBride, Siraj Mehdi and Josephine Vaccaro-Chang.  To those Board members whose terms have come to an end we wish you well in your future endeavors.  We would also like to take this opportunity to welcome our new Board of Directors Hugh Adams, Russell Chang, Gurpreet Dhaliwal, Rochelle Greaves, Aun Japanwala, Siraj Mehdi and Josephine Vaccaro-Chang.
